when taking your car for servicing it’s best to have you car key ring a “split” key ring so you can separate your house key from your car keys. Also, whenever you use valet parking services. Remember, your registration is in the glove compartment with your address on it. Someone can make copies of these keys and visit your home when you are not there. They know where you live.

  1. By putting the registration in the trunk of the auto (It may cause a little confusion if pulled over)where most people will not look, You address should be safe. I do agree when some one other than your self has your keys the only key they get should be the car key.
    Good information. LB

  2. How true this is. Most of us have a very false sense of security when it comes to the people we deal with. It may be your mechanic, your dealership, your lawn service or valet service. All the Business’s you come into contact with may hire some shady people with a skill they need. Use Common Sense. Not every one out there wants the best for you. LB

  3. You bring up a very good point. Just to know your repair people is not enough, they have people working for them who may not be trusted. And having the garage door opener in the car can let them in. An other thing is having a home button in the GPS in your car can give the perpetrator a head start you didn’t see coming. What are your thoughts on this. LB
